Write On! is a community for teen writers and book lovers. It's a place to come and meet others who share your passion for the written word, and a place to learn more about the craft of writing and what it takes to be published.
We are passionate about teen writers, and strive to bring your writing from good to excellent through helpful blog posts, interactive forums and chatroom, and unique opportunities like Ask-The-Editor with real editor Alison Weiss and monthly Agent Chats with current literary agents. Our goal is to offer you the tools you need and a place to be a tight-knit community of writers (and readers) who are there for each other every step of the journey.
Write On! was founded by Authoress and Maggie, and is kept running smoothly by the awesome Teen Team. Here's what Authoress says about her vision for Write On!:
"My goal? To keep this a SAFE and FUN place where teens can learn and grow together. While there's always the rare occasion where a teenager gets published, the hard truth is that writing is a craft that takes many years to hone. I want Write On! to be a place of HONING. Some day, there will be books on the shelves by authors who once spent their time here. I really believe that." ~Authoress

More about Maggie:
Maggie is an 18-year-old dancer and aspiring author. She enjoys drinking tea, long walks on the beach and traveling. While she has yet to seriously pursue agents and publishing herself, she spends a good chunk of her time each week writing the hours away. She kind of can't help it.
Agent Chats - Every few months we host an Agent Chat, featuring a guest literary agent. For one hour you'll have the opportunity to ask an agent questions, read answers to questions other teens have, and basically interact with an agent! Even if you have nothing to ask , it's a learning experience just sitting and reading along. Ask-The-Editor - The first Tuesday of every month we're joined by editor Alison Weiss in the forums for an entire day of Ask-The-Editor! You can ask her any question about books, writing, editing, publishing, juggling-- okay, maybe not juggling. But you get the point. In-House Crits - Every so often we host In-House Crits, which is an opportunity for teen writers to submit excerpts of their work to Write On! during a time frame. Entries are then posted on the blog (and highly publicized!) so everyone (even grownups!) can read and leave crits in the comments. We all need a new pair of eyes! These are invaluable. Contests - These are pretty infrequent, and pop up when you least expect them, so keep your eyes peeled! (Subscribing to the newsletter is a good place to start.) There is no specific kind of contest. It will always be a surprise. Following us on Twitter and liking us on Facebook will ensure you're among the first to know.Author Interviews - Every month or so you can catch a surprise interview with a published author! Every author interviewed will be someone's favorite, according to feedback from the WOTeens. Feel free to add your faves to the list! Who knows? Maybe one of your requests will be next*!
*Unfortunately, we can't get every author listed. J.K Rowling, Suzanne Collins, and Sarah Dessen, for example, are just a wee bit too popular. But hey, maybe one day when you're a bestselling author yourself, you'll get to meet them?
